These blessings are|strong="G2532" kept|strong="G5083" for|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5210" in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772". They|strong="G2532" cannot be|strong="G2532" ruined or|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" destroyed or|strong="G2532" lose their|strong="G2532" beauty.
5 God’s|strong="G2316" power|strong="G1411" protects you|strong="G1722" through|strong="G1223" your|strong="G1223" faith|strong="G4102", and|strong="G2316" it|strong="G1223" keeps you|strong="G1722" safe|strong="G1722" until|strong="G1519" your|strong="G1223" salvation|strong="G4991" comes. 6 I|strong="G3739" know the|strong="G1722" thought of|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3739" is|strong="G3739" exciting, even if|strong="G1487" you|strong="G3739" must|strong="G1163" suffer|strong="G3076" through|strong="G1722" different kinds of|strong="G1722" troubles for|strong="G1722" a|strong="G3739" short|strong="G3641" time|strong="G0737" now|strong="G0737".
7 These|strong="G3588" troubles test|strong="G1381" your|strong="G2532" faith|strong="G4102" and|strong="G2532" prove that|strong="G2443" it|strong="G1223" is|strong="G3588" pure. And|strong="G2532" such faith|strong="G4102" is|strong="G3588" worth more|strong="G4186" than|strong="G2532" gold|strong="G5553". Gold|strong="G5553" can be|strong="G2532" proved|strong="G2147" to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G2532" pure by|strong="G1722" fire|strong="G4442", but|strong="G1161" gold|strong="G5553" will|strong="G2532" ruin. 9 Your|strong="G4102" faith|strong="G4102" has|strong="G4102" a|strong="G5590" goal|strong="G5056", and|strong="G4102" you|strong="G5210" are|strong="G3588" reaching that goal|strong="G5056"—your|strong="G4102" salvation|strong="G4991".
10 The|strong="G3588" prophets|strong="G4396" studied carefully and|strong="G2532" tried to|strong="G1519" learn about|strong="G4012" this|strong="G3588" salvation|strong="G4991". They|strong="G3739" spoke about|strong="G4012" the|strong="G3588" grace|strong="G5485" that|strong="G3739" was|strong="G3739" coming to|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5210".
11 The|strong="G3588" Spirit|strong="G4151" of|strong="G4151" Christ|strong="G5547" was|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" those|strong="G3588" prophets. And|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3588" Spirit|strong="G4151" was|strong="G3588" telling about|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" sufferings|strong="G3804" that|strong="G3778" would|strong="G5547" happen|strong="G1519" to|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547" and|strong="G2532" about|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" glory|strong="G1391" that|strong="G3778" would|strong="G5547" come after|strong="G3326" those|strong="G3588" sufferings|strong="G3804". 12 It|strong="G0846" was|strong="G3739" made|strong="G0601" clear to|strong="G1519" them|strong="G0846" that|strong="G3754" their|strong="G0846" service was|strong="G3739" not|strong="G3756" for|strong="G1519" themselves|strong="G1438". 14 In|strong="G1722" the|strong="G3588" past you|strong="G5210" did not|strong="G3361" have|strong="G3588" the|strong="G3588" understanding you|strong="G5210" have|strong="G3588" now|strong="G1722", so|strong="G3361" you|strong="G5210" did the|strong="G3588" evil things|strong="G3588" you|strong="G5210" wanted to|strong="G1722" do|strong="G3361". But|strong="G3361" now|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210" are|strong="G3588" children|strong="G5043" of|strong="G5043" God, so|strong="G3361" you|strong="G5210" should obey|strong="G5218" him|strong="G1722" and|strong="G1939" not|strong="G3361" live the|strong="G3588" way|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210" did before|strong="G1722".

17 You|strong="G5210" pray to|strong="G2596" God|strong="G3962" and|strong="G2532" call|strong="G1941" him|strong="G2532" Father|strong="G3962", but|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2532" judge|strong="G2919" everyone|strong="G1538" the|strong="G3588" same|strong="G2532" way|strong="G2596"—by|strong="G1722" what|strong="G3588" they|strong="G2532" do|strong="G2919". It|strong="G1537" was|strong="G3588" a|strong="G2228" way|strong="G0391" of|strong="G1537" life|strong="G0391" you|strong="G5210" learned from|strong="G1537" those|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" lived before|strong="G1537" you|strong="G5210". But|strong="G5349" you|strong="G5210" were|strong="G3588" saved from|strong="G1537" that|strong="G3754" way|strong="G0391" of|strong="G1537" living. You|strong="G5210" were|strong="G3588" bought, but|strong="G5349" not|strong="G3756" with|strong="G1537" things|strong="G3152" that|strong="G3754" ruin like|strong="G5349" gold|strong="G5553" or|strong="G2228" silver|strong="G0694".
19 You|strong="G2532" were|strong="G2532" bought with|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" precious|strong="G5093" blood|strong="G0129" of|strong="G0129" Christ’s|strong="G5547" death|strong="G0129". He|strong="G2532" was|strong="G5547" a|strong="G5613" pure and|strong="G2532" perfect sacrificial Lamb|strong="G0286".
20 Christ was|strong="G3588" chosen before|strong="G4253" the|strong="G3588" world|strong="G2889" was|strong="G3588" made|strong="G5319", but|strong="G1161" he|strong="G1161" was|strong="G3588" shown|strong="G5319" to|strong="G1909" the|strong="G3588" world|strong="G2889" in|strong="G1909" these|strong="G3588" last|strong="G2078" times|strong="G5550" for|strong="G1223" you|strong="G5210".

22 You|strong="G5210" have|strong="G3588" made yourselves|strong="G4771" pure|strong="G0048" by|strong="G1722" obeying|strong="G5218" the|strong="G3588" truth|strong="G0225". Now|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210" can have|strong="G3588" true|strong="G0225" love|strong="G0025" for|strong="G1519" your|strong="G0025" brothers and|strong="G2588" sisters. So|strong="G1519" love|strong="G0025" each|strong="G0240" other|strong="G0240" deeply—with|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3588" your|strong="G0025" heart|strong="G2588".
23 You|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2532" been|strong="G2532" born|strong="G0313" again|strong="G0313". This|strong="G2532" new life|strong="G2198" did|strong="G2198" not|strong="G3756" come|strong="G1537" from|strong="G1537" something that|strong="G2316" dies. It|strong="G1223" came|strong="G1223" from|strong="G1537" something that|strong="G2316" cannot|strong="G3756" die|strong="G1223". You|strong="G2532" were|strong="G2532" born|strong="G0313" again|strong="G0313" through|strong="G1223" God’s|strong="G2316" life-giving message|strong="G3056" that|strong="G2316" lasts forever.
