2 Contend with|strong="H3117" your|strong="H7760" mother, contend; for|strong="H3588" she|strong="H3588" is|strong="H3117" not|strong="H3588" my|strong="H7760" wife, neither|strong="H4480" am I|strong="H3588" her|strong="H7760" husband; and|strong="H1121" let|strong="H7760" her|strong="H7760" put|strong="H7760" away|strong="H5927" her|strong="H7760" whoredoms from|strong="H4480" her|strong="H7760" face, and|strong="H1121" her|strong="H7760" adulteries from|strong="H4480" between|strong="H4480" her|strong="H7760" breasts;
3 lest I|strong="H5971" strip her naked, and|strong="H5971" set her as|strong="H5971" in|strong="H5971" the|strong="H5971" day that|strong="H5971" she was|strong="H5971" born, and|strong="H5971" make her as|strong="H5971" a|strong="H3068" wilderness, and|strong="H5971" set her like|strong="H5971" a|strong="H3068" dry land, and|strong="H5971" slay her with|strong="H5971" thirst.
4 Yea|strong="H3588", upon|strong="H6440" her|strong="H5493" children will|strong="H3808" I|strong="H3588" have|strong="H3588" no|strong="H3808" mercy; for|strong="H3588" they|strong="H3588" are|strong="H6440" children of|strong="H6440" whoredom|strong="H2183";
5 for|strong="H3117" their|strong="H7760" mother hath played the|strong="H3205" harlot; she that|strong="H3117" conceived them|strong="H7760" hath done|strong="H7760" shamefully; for|strong="H3117" she said, I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3117" go after|strong="H3117" my|strong="H7760" lovers, that|strong="H3117" give|strong="H7760" me|strong="H7760" my|strong="H7760" bread and|strong="H3117" my|strong="H7760" water, my|strong="H7760" wool and|strong="H3117" my|strong="H7760" flax, mine|strong="H7760" oil and|strong="H3117" my|strong="H7760" drink.
6 Therefore|strong="H3588", behold|strong="H3808", I|strong="H3588" will|strong="H1121" hedge up|strong="H1121" thy|strong="H1121" way with|strong="H1121" thorns, and|strong="H1121" I|strong="H3588" will|strong="H1121" build a|strong="H3068" wall against her|strong="H3588", that|strong="H3588" she|strong="H3588" shall|strong="H1121" not|strong="H3808" find|strong="H7355" her|strong="H3588" paths.
7 And|strong="H3212" she|strong="H3588" shall|strong="H4325" follow|strong="H3212" after|strong="H3588" her|strong="H5414" lovers, but|strong="H3588" she|strong="H3588" shall|strong="H4325" not|strong="H5414" overtake them|strong="H5414"; and|strong="H3212" she|strong="H3588" shall|strong="H4325" seek them|strong="H5414", but|strong="H3588" shall|strong="H4325" not|strong="H5414" find|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414": then|strong="H5414" shall|strong="H4325" she|strong="H3588" say, I|strong="H3588" will|strong="H5414" go|strong="H3212" and|strong="H3212" return to|strong="H3212" my|strong="H5414" first husband; for|strong="H3588" then|strong="H5414" was|strong="H4325" it|strong="H5414" better with|strong="H3212" me|strong="H5414" than|strong="H3588" now|strong="H3588".
8 For|strong="H3651" she|strong="H3651" did|strong="H3651" not|strong="H3808" know that|strong="H3651" I|strong="H2005" gave her|strong="H4672" the|strong="H1870" grain, and|strong="H1870" the|strong="H1870" new wine, and|strong="H1870" the|strong="H1870" oil, and|strong="H1870" multiplied unto|strong="H1870" her|strong="H4672" silver and|strong="H1870" gold, which they|strong="H3651" used for|strong="H3651" Baal.
9 Therefore|strong="H6258" will|strong="H3808" I|strong="H3588" take|strong="H7725" back|strong="H7725" my|strong="H1245" grain in|strong="H3212" the|strong="H3588" time|strong="H6258" thereof, and|strong="H7725" my|strong="H1245" new wine in|strong="H3212" the|strong="H3588" season thereof, and|strong="H7725" will|strong="H3808" pluck away|strong="H7725" my|strong="H1245" wool and|strong="H7725" my|strong="H1245" flax which|strong="H3588" should|strong="H3588" have|strong="H4672" covered her|strong="H4672" nakedness.
10 And|strong="H3701" now|strong="H3588" will|strong="H5414" I|strong="H3588" uncover her|strong="H5414" lewdness in|strong="H6213" the|strong="H3588" sight of|strong="H6213" her|strong="H5414" lovers, and|strong="H3701" none|strong="H3808" shall|strong="H3808" deliver|strong="H5414" her|strong="H5414" out|strong="H5414" of|strong="H6213" my|strong="H5414" hand|strong="H5414".
11 I|strong="H3651" will|strong="H7725" also|strong="H6256" cause|strong="H3651" all|strong="H5337" her|strong="H3947" mirth to|strong="H7725" cease|strong="H7725", her|strong="H3947" feasts|strong="H4150", her|strong="H3947" new|strong="H8492" moons, and|strong="H7725" her|strong="H3947" sabbaths, and|strong="H7725" all|strong="H5337" her|strong="H3947" solemn|strong="H4150" assemblies|strong="H4150".
12 And|strong="H3027" I|strong="H6258" will|strong="H5869" lay|strong="H1540" waste her|strong="H1540" vines and|strong="H3027" her|strong="H1540" fig trees, whereof she|strong="H3808" hath|strong="H3027" said, These are|strong="H5869" my|strong="H5337" hire that|strong="H3027" my|strong="H5337" lovers have|strong="H5869" given|strong="H3027" me|strong="H5337"; and|strong="H3027" I|strong="H6258" will|strong="H5869" make|strong="H3027" them|strong="H3027" a|strong="H3068" forest, and|strong="H3027" the|strong="H3027" beasts of|strong="H3027" the|strong="H3027" field shall|strong="H5869" eat them|strong="H3027".
13 And|strong="H4150" I|strong="H3605" will|strong="H7673" visit upon her|strong="H3605" the|strong="H3605" days|strong="H2282" of|strong="H2282" the|strong="H3605" Baalim, unto which|strong="H2282" she|strong="H2320" burned incense, when she|strong="H2320" decked herself with|strong="H4150" her|strong="H3605" earrings and|strong="H4150" her|strong="H3605" jewels, and|strong="H4150" went after her|strong="H3605" lovers, and|strong="H4150" forgat me|strong="H3605", saith Jehovah|strong="H3068".
14 Therefore, behold, I|strong="H5414" will|strong="H5414" allure her|strong="H5414", and|strong="H7704" bring|strong="H5414" her|strong="H5414" into|strong="H5414" the|strong="H5414" wilderness, and|strong="H7704" speak comfortably unto|strong="H5414" her|strong="H5414".
15 And|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3068" give her|strong="H5921" her|strong="H5921" vineyards from|strong="H5921" thence, and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" valley of|strong="H3068" Achor for|strong="H5921" a|strong="H3068" door of|strong="H3068" hope; and|strong="H3068" she|strong="H5921" shall|strong="H3068" make|strong="H6485" answer there|strong="H1992", as|strong="H3117" in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5002" days|strong="H3117" of|strong="H3068" her|strong="H5921" youth, and|strong="H3068" as|strong="H3117" in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5002" day|strong="H3117" when|strong="H3117" she|strong="H5921" came|strong="H3068" up|strong="H5921" out|strong="H5921" of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" land of|strong="H3068" Egypt.
16 And|strong="H3212" it|strong="H5921" shall|strong="H3820" be|strong="H3820" at|strong="H5921" that|strong="H3651" day, saith|strong="H1696" Jehovah|strong="H3068", that|strong="H3651" thou|strong="H1696" shalt call me|strong="H5921" Ishi, and|strong="H3212" shalt call me|strong="H5921" no|strong="H1696" more|strong="H3651" Baali.
17 For|strong="H4714" I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H4714" take|strong="H5927" away|strong="H5927" the|strong="H5414" names of|strong="H3117" the|strong="H5414" Baalim out|strong="H5414" of|strong="H3117" her|strong="H5414" mouth, and|strong="H6030" they|strong="H3117" shall|strong="H3117" no|strong="H5414" more be|strong="H3117" mentioned|strong="H5927" by|strong="H3117" their|strong="H5414" name.
18 And|strong="H3068" in|strong="H3068" that|strong="H3117" day|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3117" make|strong="H7121" a|strong="H3068" covenant for|strong="H7121" them|strong="H7121" with|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" beasts of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" field, and|strong="H3068" with|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" birds of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" heavens, and|strong="H3068" with|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" creeping things|strong="H1961" of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" ground: and|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3068" break|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" bow and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" sword and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" battle|strong="H3117" out|strong="H3808" of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" land, and|strong="H3068" will|strong="H3068" make|strong="H7121" them|strong="H7121" to|strong="H3068" lie|strong="H1961" down|strong="H7121" safely.
19 And|strong="H6310" I|strong="H3808" will|strong="H3808" betroth thee unto|strong="H6310" me|strong="H5493" forever; yea, I|strong="H3808" will|strong="H3808" betroth thee unto|strong="H6310" me|strong="H5493" in|strong="H5493" righteousness, and|strong="H6310" in|strong="H5493" justice, and|strong="H6310" in|strong="H5493" lovingkindness, and|strong="H6310" in|strong="H5493" mercies.
20 I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H2719" even betroth thee|strong="H3772" unto|strong="H3117" me|strong="H4480" in|strong="H3117" faithfulness; and|strong="H3117" thou|strong="H3117" shalt know Jehovah|strong="H3068".
21 And|strong="H4941" it|strong="H4941" shall|strong="H2617" come|strong="H4941" to|strong="H4941" pass in|strong="H4941" that|strong="H5769" day, I will|strong="H6664" answer, saith Jehovah|strong="H3068", I will|strong="H6664" answer the|strong="H4941" heavens, and|strong="H4941" they shall|strong="H2617" answer the|strong="H4941" earth;
22 and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" earth shall|strong="H3068" answer|strong="H3045" the|strong="H3068" grain, and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" new wine, and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" oil; and|strong="H3068" they|strong="H3068" shall|strong="H3068" answer|strong="H3045" Jezreel.
23 And|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3068" sow her|strong="H1931" unto|strong="H3068" me|strong="H6030" in|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" earth|strong="H8064"; and|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3068" have|strong="H1961" mercy|strong="H3068" upon|strong="H1961" her|strong="H1931" that|strong="H3117" had|strong="H3068" not|strong="H1961" obtained mercy|strong="H3068"; and|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3068" say to|strong="H3068" them|strong="H1992" that|strong="H3117" were|strong="H1961" not|strong="H1961" my|strong="H3068" people|strong="H1931", Thou|strong="H1961" art|strong="H1961" my|strong="H3068" people|strong="H1931"; and|strong="H3068" they|strong="H1992" shall|strong="H3068" say, Thou art my|strong="H3068" God|strong="H3068".
