1 Oh|strong="H4310" that|strong="H3588" my|strong="H5414" head were|strong="H5971" waters, and|strong="H3212" mine|strong="H5414" eyes a|strong="H3068" fountain of|strong="H4057" tears, that|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" might|strong="H5971" weep day and|strong="H3212" night for|strong="H3588" the|strong="H3605" slain of|strong="H4057" the|strong="H3605" daughter of|strong="H4057" my|strong="H5414" people|strong="H5971"!
2 Oh that|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" had|strong="H3068" in|strong="H3068" the|strong="H5002" wilderness a|strong="H3068" lodging place|strong="H7198" of|strong="H3068" wayfaring men|strong="H7451"; that|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" might|strong="H3068" leave|strong="H3318" my|strong="H3068" people|strong="H3808", and|strong="H3068" go|strong="H3318" from|strong="H3318" them|strong="H3318"! for|strong="H3588" they|strong="H3588" are|strong="H3068" all|strong="H3045" adulterers, an|strong="H3588" assembly of|strong="H3068" treacherous|strong="H7451" men|strong="H7451".
3 And|strong="H1980" they|strong="H3588" bend their|strong="H3605" tongue, as it were their|strong="H3605" bow, for|strong="H3588" falsehood; and|strong="H1980" they|strong="H3588" are grown strong in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H3605" land, but|strong="H3588" not|strong="H3588" for|strong="H3588" truth: for|strong="H3588" they|strong="H3588" proceed|strong="H1980" from|strong="H5921" evil to|strong="H1980" evil, and|strong="H1980" they|strong="H3588" know not|strong="H3588" me|strong="H5921", saith Jehovah|strong="H3068".
4 Take ye|strong="H1696" heed everyone of|strong="H3956" his|strong="H3808" neighbor|strong="H7453", and|strong="H1696" trust ye|strong="H1696" not|strong="H3808" in|strong="H1696" any|strong="H3808" brother|strong="H7453"; for|strong="H3808" every|strong="H2048" brother|strong="H7453" will|strong="H3808" utterly supplant, and|strong="H1696" every|strong="H2048" neighbor|strong="H7453" will|strong="H3808" go about|strong="H1696" with|strong="H1696" slanders.
5 And|strong="H3068" they|strong="H3068" will|strong="H3068" deceive every|strong="H3068" one|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" neighbor, and|strong="H3068" will|strong="H3068" not|strong="H3045" speak the|strong="H5002" truth: they|strong="H3068" have|strong="H3068" taught|strong="H3045" their|strong="H3068" tongue to|strong="H3068" speak lies|strong="H4820"; they|strong="H3068" weary themselves|strong="H3045" to|strong="H3068" commit iniquity.
6 Thy|strong="H3068" habitation is|strong="H3068" in|strong="H3068" the|strong="H6440" midst of|strong="H3068" deceit; through|strong="H5971" deceit they|strong="H3588" refuse|strong="H3588" to|strong="H3068" know me|strong="H6440", saith Jehovah|strong="H3068".
7 Therefore thus saith|strong="H1696" Jehovah|strong="H3068" of|strong="H6310" hosts, Behold, I|strong="H7760" will|strong="H6310" melt them|strong="H7760", and|strong="H6310" try them|strong="H7760"; for|strong="H7130" how|strong="H7965" else should I|strong="H7760" do, because of|strong="H6310" the|strong="H7760" daughter of|strong="H6310" my|strong="H7760" people|strong="H1696"?
8 Their|strong="H3068" tongue is|strong="H3068" a|strong="H3068" deadly|strong="H5315" arrow; it|strong="H5921" speaketh deceit: one|strong="H2088" speaketh peaceably to|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" neighbor with|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" mouth|strong="H5315", but|strong="H3808" in|strong="H5921" his|strong="H3068" heart|strong="H5315" he|strong="H3068" layeth wait for|strong="H5921" him|strong="H5921".
9 Shall|strong="H3808" I|strong="H3588" not|strong="H3808" visit them|strong="H5921" for|strong="H3588" these|strong="H8085" things|strong="H3808"? saith Jehovah|strong="H3068"; shall|strong="H3808" not|strong="H3808" my|strong="H8085" soul be|strong="H3808" avenged on|strong="H5921" such|strong="H3808" a|strong="H3068" nation as|strong="H5704" this|strong="H5674"?
10 For|strong="H3427" the|strong="H5414" mountains will|strong="H5892" I|strong="H5414" take|strong="H5414" up|strong="H5414" a|strong="H3068" weeping and|strong="H3063" wailing, and|strong="H3063" for|strong="H3427" the|strong="H5414" pastures of|strong="H3427" the|strong="H5414" wilderness a|strong="H3068" lamentation, because|strong="H1097" they|strong="H3389" are|strong="H5892" burned up|strong="H5414", so|strong="H5414" that|strong="H5414" none|strong="H5414" passeth through|strong="H5892"; neither can men hear the|strong="H5414" voice of|strong="H3427" the|strong="H5414" cattle; both the|strong="H5414" birds of|strong="H3427" the|strong="H5414" heavens and|strong="H3063" the|strong="H5414" beasts are|strong="H5892" fled, they|strong="H3389" are|strong="H5892" gone.
11 And|strong="H3068" I|strong="H5921" will|strong="H3068" make|strong="H5046" Jerusalem heaps, a|strong="H3068" dwelling place of|strong="H3068" jackals; and|strong="H3068" I|strong="H5921" will|strong="H3068" make|strong="H5046" the|strong="H5921" cities of|strong="H3068" Judah a|strong="H3068" desolation, without|strong="H1097" inhabitant.
12 Who|strong="H3068" is|strong="H3068" the|strong="H6440" wise man|strong="H6440", that|strong="H8085" may|strong="H3068" understand|strong="H8085" this|strong="H5414"? and|strong="H1980" who is he|strong="H3068" to|strong="H1980" whom|strong="H6440" the|strong="H6440" mouth|strong="H6440" of|strong="H3068" Jehovah|strong="H3068" hath|strong="H3068" spoken|strong="H8085", that|strong="H8085" he|strong="H3068" may|strong="H3068" declare|strong="H8085" it|strong="H5414"? wherefore is|strong="H3068" the|strong="H6440" land|strong="H6440" perished and|strong="H1980" burned up|strong="H5414" like|strong="H3808" a|strong="H3068" wilderness, so|strong="H1980" that|strong="H8085" none|strong="H3808" passeth|strong="H1980" through|strong="H5921"?
13 And|strong="H3212" Jehovah|strong="H3068" saith, Because they|strong="H3820" have forsaken my|strong="H3925" law which I|strong="H3212" set before them|strong="H3925", and|strong="H3212" have not|strong="H3212" obeyed my|strong="H3925" voice, neither walked|strong="H3212" therein,
14 but|strong="H3651" have|strong="H3068" walked after the|strong="H3541" stubbornness of|strong="H3068" their|strong="H3068" own|strong="H5971" heart, and|strong="H3478" after the|strong="H3541" Baalim, which|strong="H3068" their|strong="H3068" fathers taught them|strong="H8248";
15 therefore|strong="H7971" thus|strong="H3808" saith Jehovah|strong="H3068" of|strong="H3615" hosts, the|strong="H3045" God|strong="H3808" of|strong="H3615" Israel, Behold|strong="H3808", I|strong="H5704" will|strong="H1471" feed|strong="H3615" them|strong="H1992", even|strong="H5704" this|strong="H3045" people|strong="H1471", with|strong="H3045" wormwood, and|strong="H7971" give them|strong="H1992" water of|strong="H3615" gall to|strong="H5704" drink.
16 I|strong="H3541" will|strong="H3068" scatter them|strong="H7971" also|strong="H3068" among the|strong="H3541" nations, whom|strong="H7121" neither they|strong="H3068" nor their|strong="H3068" fathers have|strong="H3068" known; and|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3541" will|strong="H3068" send|strong="H7971" the|strong="H3541" sword after|strong="H7121" them|strong="H7971", till I|strong="H3541" have|strong="H3068" consumed them|strong="H7971".
17 Thus saith Jehovah|strong="H3068" of|strong="H5869" hosts, Consider|strong="H5375" ye, and|strong="H5869" call for|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" mourning women, that|strong="H4325" they|strong="H5921" may|strong="H4325" come|strong="H3381"; and|strong="H5869" send for|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" skillful women, that|strong="H4325" they|strong="H5921" may|strong="H4325" come|strong="H3381":
18 and|strong="H6963" let|strong="H5800" them|strong="H7993" make|strong="H8085" haste, and|strong="H6963" take up|strong="H4908" a|strong="H3068" wailing|strong="H5092" for|strong="H3588" us|strong="H3588", that|strong="H3588" our|strong="H8085" eyes may|strong="H8085" run down|strong="H7993" with|strong="H6726" tears, and|strong="H6963" our|strong="H8085" eyelids gush out|strong="H7993" with|strong="H6726" waters.
19 For|strong="H3588" a|strong="H3068" voice of|strong="H3068" wailing|strong="H5092" is|strong="H3068" heard|strong="H8085" out|strong="H3947" of|strong="H3068" Zion, How|strong="H3588" are|strong="H1697" we|strong="H3068" ruined! we|strong="H3068" are|strong="H1697" greatly confounded, because|strong="H3588" we|strong="H3068" have|strong="H3068" forsaken the|strong="H8085" land, because|strong="H3588" they|strong="H3588" have|strong="H3068" cast|strong="H3068" down|strong="H3588" our|strong="H3068" dwellings.
20 Yet|strong="H3588" hear the|strong="H3588" word of|strong="H2351" Jehovah|strong="H3068", O|strong="H3068" ye women, and|strong="H5927" let your|strong="H3588" ear receive the|strong="H3588" word of|strong="H2351" his|strong="H3588" mouth; and|strong="H5927" teach your|strong="H3588" daughters wailing, and|strong="H5927" every|strong="H5927" one|strong="H3588" her|strong="H3772" neighbor lamentation.
21 For|strong="H5921" death|strong="H5038" is|strong="H3068" come|strong="H5307" up|strong="H5921" into|strong="H5307" our|strong="H3068" windows, it|strong="H5921" is|strong="H3068" entered into|strong="H5307" our|strong="H3068" palaces; to|strong="H1696" cut off|strong="H5921" the|strong="H6440" children from|strong="H6440" without|strong="H6440", and the|strong="H6440" young men from|strong="H6440" the|strong="H6440" streets.
22 Speak, Thus|strong="H3541" saith Jehovah|strong="H3068", The|strong="H3541" dead bodies of|strong="H3068" men|strong="H1368" shall|strong="H3068" fall as|strong="H3068" dung upon|strong="H1368" the|strong="H3541" open field, and|strong="H3068" as|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3541" handful after the|strong="H3541" harvestman; and|strong="H3068" none shall|strong="H3068" gather them.
23 Thus|strong="H2063" saith|strong="H5002" Jehovah|strong="H3068", Let not|strong="H3045" the|strong="H5002" wise|strong="H7919" man|strong="H3045" glory|strong="H1984" in|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" wisdom|strong="H7919", neither let the|strong="H5002" mighty man|strong="H3045" glory|strong="H1984" in|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" might|strong="H3068", let not|strong="H3045" the|strong="H5002" rich man|strong="H3045" glory|strong="H1984" in|strong="H3068" his|strong="H3068" riches;
24 but|strong="H2009" let|strong="H6485" him|strong="H5921" that|strong="H3605" glorieth glory in|strong="H5921" this|strong="H3068", that|strong="H3605" he|strong="H3117" hath|strong="H3068" understanding, and|strong="H3068" knoweth me|strong="H5921", that|strong="H3605" I|strong="H3117" am|strong="H3068" Jehovah|strong="H3068" who|strong="H3605" exerciseth lovingkindness, justice, and|strong="H3068" righteousness, in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H3605" earth: for|strong="H5921" in|strong="H5921" these|strong="H3605" things|strong="H3605" I|strong="H3117" delight, saith|strong="H5002" Jehovah|strong="H3068".
25 Behold, the|strong="H3605" days come|strong="H3478", saith Jehovah|strong="H3068", that|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" will|strong="H1471" punish all|strong="H3605" them|strong="H5921" that|strong="H3588" are|strong="H1121" circumcised in|strong="H3427" their uncircumcision:
26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners of their hair cut off, that dwell in the wilderness; for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.
