1 And|strong="H3117" Hiram king of|strong="H3117" Tyre sent his|strong="H3605" servants|strong="H5647" unto|strong="H4503" Solomon|strong="H8010"; for|strong="H5704" he|strong="H3117" had|strong="H1961" heard that|strong="H3605" they|strong="H3117" had|strong="H1961" anointed him|strong="H5647" king in|strong="H3117" the|strong="H3605" room|strong="H5066" of|strong="H3117" his|strong="H3605" father: for|strong="H5704" Hiram was|strong="H1961" ever|strong="H3117" a|strong="H3068" lover of|strong="H3117" David|strong="H3117".
2 And|strong="H3117" Solomon|strong="H8010" sent to|strong="H1961" Hiram, saying,
3 Thou knowest how that|strong="H1241" David my father could not build an house for|strong="H1241" the|strong="H3967" name of|strong="H6629" the|strong="H3967" LORD|strong="H3068" his God for|strong="H1241" the|strong="H3967" wars which were|strong="H6629" about him on every side, until the|strong="H3967" LORD|strong="H3068" put them under the|strong="H3967" soles of|strong="H6629" his feet.
4 But|strong="H3588" now|strong="H1961" the|strong="H3605" LORD|strong="H3068" my|strong="H3605" God hath|strong="H4428" given me|strong="H1961" rest|strong="H7965" on|strong="H1961" every|strong="H3605" side|strong="H5676"; there|strong="H1961" is|strong="H1931" neither adversary, nor|strong="H3588" evil occurrent.
5 And|strong="H3063", behold, I|strong="H3117" purpose to|strong="H5704" build an|strong="H3427" house for|strong="H5704" the|strong="H3605" name of|strong="H3117" the|strong="H3605" LORD|strong="H3068" my|strong="H3605" God, as|strong="H5704" the|strong="H3605" LORD|strong="H3068" spake unto|strong="H3478" David|strong="H3117" my|strong="H3605" father, saying, Thy|strong="H8010" son, whom I|strong="H3117" will|strong="H3478" set|strong="H3427" upon|strong="H3427" thy|strong="H8010" throne in|strong="H3427" thy|strong="H8010" room|strong="H8478", he|strong="H3117" shall|strong="H3478" build the|strong="H3605" house for|strong="H5704" my|strong="H3605" name.
6 Now|strong="H1961" therefore|strong="H1961" command thou|strong="H1961" that|strong="H8010" they hew me|strong="H1961" cedar trees out|strong="H8147" of|strong="H8147" Lebanon; and|strong="H5483" my|strong="H1961" servants shall|strong="H6571" be|strong="H1961" with|strong="H8147" thy|strong="H8010" servants; and|strong="H5483" I|strong="H1961" will|strong="H1961" give|strong="H1961" thee hire for|strong="H1961" thy|strong="H8010" servants according to|strong="H1961" all that|strong="H8010" thou|strong="H1961" shalt say: for|strong="H1961" thou|strong="H1961" knowest that|strong="H8010" there|strong="H1961" is|strong="H1961" not|strong="H1961" among us|strong="H1961" any|strong="H1961" that|strong="H8010" can|strong="H8147" skill to|strong="H1961" hew timber like|strong="H1961" unto|strong="H8147" the|strong="H1961" Zidonians.
7 And|strong="H4428" it|strong="H3808" came|strong="H1697" to|strong="H4428" pass, when Hiram heard the|strong="H3605" words|strong="H1697" of|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010", that|strong="H3605" he|strong="H3605" rejoiced greatly|strong="H4428", and|strong="H4428" said|strong="H1697", Blessed be|strong="H3808" the|strong="H3605" LORD|strong="H3068" this|strong="H1697" day|strong="H2320", which|strong="H1697" hath|strong="H4428" given unto|strong="H1697" David a|strong="H3068" wise son over|strong="H4428" this|strong="H1697" great people|strong="H3808".
8 And|strong="H4941" Hiram sent to|strong="H1961" Solomon, saying, I|strong="H8033" have|strong="H1961" heard the message which|strong="H8033" thou|strong="H1961" hast sent unto|strong="H4941" me|strong="H1961": I|strong="H8033" will|strong="H1961" do all thy desire concerning timber of|strong="H4725" cedar, and|strong="H4941" concerning timber of|strong="H4725" fir.
9 My|strong="H5414" servants shall|strong="H3820" bring|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414" down|strong="H5414" from|strong="H5921" Lebanon unto|strong="H5414" the|strong="H5921" sea|strong="H3220": and|strong="H2451" I|strong="H5414" will|strong="H3820" make|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414" into|strong="H5921" rafts to|strong="H5921" go by|strong="H5921" sea|strong="H3220" unto|strong="H5414" the|strong="H5921" place|strong="H5414" that|strong="H5414" thou|strong="H5414" shalt appoint|strong="H5414" me|strong="H5414", and|strong="H2451" will|strong="H3820" cause|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414" to|strong="H5921" be|strong="H3820" broken up|strong="H5414" there, and|strong="H2451" thou|strong="H5414" shalt receive|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414": and|strong="H2451" thou|strong="H5414" shalt accomplish my|strong="H5414" desire, in|strong="H5921" giving|strong="H5414" food for|strong="H5921" my|strong="H5414" household.
10 So|strong="H7235" Hirah gave|strong="H7235" Solomon|strong="H8010" timber of|strong="H1121" cedar and|strong="H1121" timber of|strong="H1121" fir according to|strong="H4714" all|strong="H3605" his|strong="H3605" desire.
11 And|strong="H1121" Solomon gave|strong="H1961" Hiram twenty thousand measures of|strong="H1121" wheat for|strong="H8034" food to|strong="H1961" his|strong="H3605" household, and|strong="H1121" twenty measures of|strong="H1121" pure oil: thus|strong="H1961" gave|strong="H1961" Solomon to|strong="H1961" Hiram year|strong="H1121" by|strong="H8034" year|strong="H1121".
12 And|strong="H2568" the|strong="H1961" LORD|strong="H3068" gave|strong="H1696" Solomon wisdom, as|strong="H1961" he|strong="H2568" promised|strong="H1696" him|strong="H1961"; and|strong="H2568" there|strong="H1961" was|strong="H1961" peace between Hiram and|strong="H2568" Solomon; and|strong="H2568" they|strong="H1696" two made|strong="H1696" a|strong="H3068" league together.
13 And|strong="H6086" king|strong="H5921" Solomon raised a|strong="H3068" levy out|strong="H3318" of|strong="H4480" all|strong="H5704" Israel; and|strong="H6086" the|strong="H5921" levy was|strong="H6086" thirty thousand men.
14 And|strong="H4428" he|strong="H3605" sent them|strong="H8085" to|strong="H8085" Lebanon, ten thousand a|strong="H3068" month by|strong="H3605" courses: a|strong="H3068" month they|strong="H5971" were|strong="H5971" in|strong="H4428" Lebanon, and|strong="H4428" two months at|strong="H4428" home: and|strong="H4428" Adoniram was|strong="H4428" over|strong="H4428" the|strong="H3605" levy.
15 And|strong="H7971" Solomon|strong="H8010" had|strong="H1961" threescore and|strong="H7971" ten|strong="H1732" thousand that|strong="H3588" bare burdens, and|strong="H7971" fourscore thousand that|strong="H3588" were|strong="H1961" hewers in|strong="H4428" the|strong="H3605" mountains;
16 besides Solomon|strong="H8010"’s chief officers that|strong="H8010" were over|strong="H7971" the|strong="H7971" work, three thousand and|strong="H7971" three hundred, which bare rule over|strong="H7971" the|strong="H7971" people that|strong="H8010" wrought in|strong="H8010" the|strong="H7971" work.
17 And|strong="H3068" the|strong="H6440" king|strong="H6440" commanded, and|strong="H3068" they|strong="H3588" hewed out|strong="H5414" great|strong="H6440" stones, costly stones, to|strong="H5704" lay|strong="H5414" the|strong="H6440" foundation of|strong="H1004" the|strong="H6440" house|strong="H1004" with|strong="H1004" wrought stone.
18 And|strong="H3068" Solomon’s builders and|strong="H3068" Hiram’s builders and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" Gebalites did|strong="H3068" fashion them|strong="H5117", and|strong="H3068" prepared the|strong="H3068" timber and|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" stones to|strong="H3068" build the|strong="H3068" house.
