1 Now Korah|strong="H7141", the son|strong="H1121" of Izhar|strong="H3324", the son|strong="H1121" of Kohath|strong="H6955", the son|strong="H1121" of Levi|strong="H3878", and Dathan|strong="H1885" and Abiram|strong="H0048", the sons|strong="H1121" of Eliab|strong="H0446", and On|strong="H0203", the son|strong="H1121" of Peleth|strong="H6431", sons|strong="H1121" of Reuben|strong="H7205", took|strong="H3947" men:
2 And they rose up|strong="H6965" before|strong="H6440" Moses|strong="H4872", with certain|strong="H0582" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", two hundred|strong="H3967" and fifty|strong="H2572" princes|strong="H5387" of the assembly|strong="H5712", famous|strong="H7148" in the congregation|strong="H4150", men|strong="H0582" of renown|strong="H8034":
3 And they gathered themselves together|strong="H6950" against Moses|strong="H4872" and against Aaron|strong="H0175", and said|strong="H0559" unto them, Ye take too much|strong="H7227" upon you, seeing all the congregation|strong="H5712" are holy|strong="H6918", every one of them, and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is among|strong="H8432" them: wherefore then lift ye up|strong="H5375" yourselves above the congregation|strong="H6951" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*?
4 And when Moses|strong="H4872" heard|strong="H8085" it, he fell|strong="H5307" upon his face|strong="H6440":
5 And he spake|strong="H1696" unto Korah|strong="H7141" and unto all his company|strong="H5712", saying|strong="H0559", Even to morrow|strong="H1242" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will shew|strong="H3045" who are his, and who is holy|strong="H6918"; and will cause him to come near|strong="H7126" unto him: even him whom he hath chosen|strong="H0977" will he cause to come near|strong="H7126" unto him.
6 This do|strong="H6213"; Take|strong="H3947" you censers|strong="H4289", Korah|strong="H7141", and all his company|strong="H5712";
7 And put|strong="H5414" fire|strong="H0784" therein|strong="H2004", and put|strong="H7760" incense|strong="H7004" in them before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to morrow|strong="H4279": and it shall be that the man|strong="H0376" whom the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* doth choose|strong="H0977", he shall be holy|strong="H6918": ye take too much|strong="H7227" upon you, ye sons|strong="H1121" of Levi|strong="H3878".
8 And Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H0559" unto Korah|strong="H7141", Hear|strong="H8085", I pray you, ye sons|strong="H1121" of Levi|strong="H3878":
9 Seemeth it but a small thing|strong="H4592" unto you, that the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" hath separated|strong="H0914" you from the congregation|strong="H5712" of Israel|strong="H3478", to bring you near|strong="H7126" to himself to do|strong="H5647" the service|strong="H5656" of the tabernacle|strong="H4908" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and to stand|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" the congregation|strong="H5712" to minister|strong="H8334" unto them?
10 And he hath brought thee near|strong="H7126" to him, and all thy brethren|strong="H0251" the sons|strong="H1121" of Levi|strong="H3878" with thee: and seek|strong="H1245" ye the priesthood|strong="H3550" also?
11 For which cause|strong="H3651" both thou and all thy company|strong="H5712" are gathered together|strong="H3259" against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: and what is Aaron|strong="H0175", that ye murmur|strong="H3885" against him?
12 And Moses|strong="H4872" sent|strong="H7971" to call|strong="H7121" Dathan|strong="H1885" and Abiram|strong="H0048", the sons|strong="H1121" of Eliab|strong="H0446": which said|strong="H0559", We will not come up|strong="H5927":
13 Is it a small thing|strong="H4592" that|strong="H3588" thou hast brought us up|strong="H5927" out of a land|strong="H0776" that floweth|strong="H2100" with milk|strong="H2461" and honey|strong="H1706", to kill|strong="H4191" us in the wilderness|strong="H4057", except thou make|strong="H8323" thyself altogether|strong="H8323" a prince|strong="H8323" over us?
14 Moreover|strong="H0637" thou hast not brought|strong="H0935" us into a land|strong="H0776" that floweth|strong="H2100" with milk|strong="H2461" and honey|strong="H1706", or given|strong="H5414" us inheritance|strong="H5159" of fields|strong="H7704" and vineyards|strong="H3754": wilt thou put out|strong="H5365" the eyes|strong="H5869" of these men|strong="H0582"? we will not come up|strong="H5927".
15 And Moses|strong="H4872" was very|strong="H3966" wroth|strong="H2734", and said|strong="H0559" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Respect|strong="H6437" not thou their offering|strong="H4503": I have not taken|strong="H5375" one|strong="H0259" ass|strong="H2543" from them, neither have I hurt|strong="H7489" one|strong="H0259" of them.
16 And Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H0559" unto Korah|strong="H7141", Be thou and all thy company|strong="H5712" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, thou, and they, and Aaron|strong="H0175", to morrow|strong="H4279":
17 And take|strong="H3947" every man|strong="H0376" his censer|strong="H4289", and put|strong="H5414" incense|strong="H7004" in them, and bring|strong="H7126" ye before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* every man|strong="H0376" his censer|strong="H4289", two hundred|strong="H3967" and fifty|strong="H2572" censers|strong="H4289"; thou also, and Aaron|strong="H0175", each|strong="H0376" of you his censer|strong="H4289".
18 And they took|strong="H3947" every man|strong="H0376" his censer|strong="H4289", and put|strong="H5414" fire|strong="H0784" in them, and laid|strong="H7760" incense|strong="H7004" thereon, and stood|strong="H5975" in the door|strong="H6607" of the tabernacle|strong="H0168" of the congregation|strong="H4150" with Moses|strong="H4872" and Aaron|strong="H0175".
19 And Korah|strong="H7141" gathered|strong="H6950" all the congregation|strong="H5712" against them unto the door|strong="H6607" of the tabernacle|strong="H0168" of the congregation|strong="H4150": and the glory|strong="H3519" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* appeared|strong="H7200" unto all the congregation|strong="H5712".
20 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto Moses|strong="H4872" and unto Aaron|strong="H0175", saying|strong="H0559",
21 Separate|strong="H0914" yourselves from among|strong="H8432" this congregation|strong="H5712", that I may consume|strong="H3615" them in a moment|strong="H7281".
22 And they fell|strong="H5307" upon their faces|strong="H6440", and said|strong="H0559", O God|strong="H0410", the God|strong="H0430" of the spirits|strong="H7307" of all flesh|strong="H1320", shall one|strong="H0259" man|strong="H0376" sin|strong="H2398", and wilt thou be wroth|strong="H7107" with all the congregation|strong="H5712"?
23 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto Moses|strong="H4872", saying|strong="H0559",
24 Speak|strong="H1696" unto the congregation|strong="H5712", saying|strong="H0559", Get you up|strong="H5927" from about|strong="H5439" the tabernacle|strong="H4908" of Korah|strong="H7141", Dathan|strong="H1885", and Abiram|strong="H0048".
25 And Moses|strong="H4872" rose up|strong="H6965" and went|strong="H3212" unto Dathan|strong="H1885" and Abiram|strong="H0048"; and the elders|strong="H2205" of Israel|strong="H3478" followed|strong="H3212" him|strong="H0310".
26 And he spake|strong="H1696" unto the congregation|strong="H5712", saying|strong="H0559", Depart|strong="H5493", I pray you, from the tents|strong="H0168" of these wicked|strong="H7563" men|strong="H0582", and touch|strong="H5060" nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed|strong="H5595" in all their sins|strong="H2403".
27 So they gat up|strong="H5927" from the tabernacle|strong="H4908" of Korah|strong="H7141", Dathan|strong="H1885", and Abiram|strong="H0048", on every side|strong="H5439": and Dathan|strong="H1885" and Abiram|strong="H0048" came out|strong="H3318", and stood|strong="H5324" in the door|strong="H6607" of their tents|strong="H0168", and their wives|strong="H0802", and their sons|strong="H1121", and their little children|strong="H2945".
28 And Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H0559", Hereby ye shall know|strong="H3045" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath sent|strong="H7971" me to do|strong="H6213" all these works|strong="H4639"; for I have not done them of mine own mind|strong="H3820".
29 If these men die|strong="H4191" the common death|strong="H4194" of all men|strong="H0120", or if they be visited|strong="H6485" after the visitation|strong="H6486" of all men|strong="H0120"; then the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath not sent|strong="H7971" me.
30 But if the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* make|strong="H1254" a new thing|strong="H1278", and the earth|strong="H0127" open|strong="H6475" her mouth|strong="H6310", and swallow them up|strong="H1104", with all that appertain unto them, and they go down|strong="H3381" quick|strong="H2416" into the pit|strong="H7585"; then ye shall understand|strong="H3045" that these men|strong="H0582" have provoked|strong="H5006" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end|strong="H3615" of speaking|strong="H1696" all these words|strong="H1697", that the ground|strong="H0127" clave asunder|strong="H1234" that was under them:
32 And the earth|strong="H0776" opened|strong="H6605" her mouth|strong="H6310", and swallowed them up|strong="H1104", and their houses|strong="H1004", and all the men|strong="H0120" that appertained unto Korah|strong="H7141", and all their goods|strong="H7399".
33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down|strong="H3381" alive|strong="H2416" into the pit|strong="H7585", and the earth|strong="H0776" closed|strong="H3680" upon them: and they perished|strong="H0006" from among|strong="H8432" the congregation|strong="H6951".
34 And all Israel|strong="H3478" that were round about|strong="H5439" them fled|strong="H5127" at the cry|strong="H6963" of them: for they said|strong="H0559", Lest the earth|strong="H0776" swallow us up|strong="H1104" also.
35 And there came out|strong="H3318" a fire|strong="H0784" from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and consumed|strong="H0398" the two hundred|strong="H3967" and fifty|strong="H2572" men|strong="H0376" that offered|strong="H7126" incense|strong="H7004".
36 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto Moses|strong="H4872", saying|strong="H0559",
37 Speak|strong="H0559" unto Eleazar|strong="H0499" the son|strong="H1121" of Aaron|strong="H0175" the priest|strong="H3548", that he take up|strong="H7311" the censers|strong="H4289" out|strong="H0996" of the burning|strong="H8316", and scatter|strong="H2219" thou the fire|strong="H0784" yonder|strong="H1973"; for they are hallowed|strong="H6942".
38 The censers|strong="H4289" of these sinners|strong="H2400" against their own souls|strong="H5315", let them make|strong="H6213" them broad|strong="H7555" plates|strong="H6341" for a covering|strong="H6826" of the altar|strong="H4196": for they offered|strong="H7126" them before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, therefore they are hallowed|strong="H6942": and they shall be a sign|strong="H0226" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478".
39 And Eleazar|strong="H0499" the priest|strong="H3548" took|strong="H3947" the brasen|strong="H5178" censers|strong="H4289", wherewith they that were burnt|strong="H8313" had offered|strong="H7126"; and they were made broad|strong="H7554" plates for a covering|strong="H6826" of the altar|strong="H4196":
40 To be a memorial|strong="H2146" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", that|strong="H0834" no stranger|strong="H0376", which is not of the seed|strong="H2233" of Aaron|strong="H0175", come near|strong="H7126" to offer|strong="H6999" incense|strong="H7004" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; that he be not as Korah|strong="H7141", and as his company|strong="H5712": as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H1696" to him by the hand|strong="H3027" of Moses|strong="H4872".
41 But on the morrow|strong="H4283" all the congregation|strong="H5712" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" murmured|strong="H3885" against Moses|strong="H4872" and against Aaron|strong="H0175", saying|strong="H0559", Ye have killed|strong="H4191" the people|strong="H5971" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
42 And it came to pass, when the congregation|strong="H5712" was gathered|strong="H6950" against Moses|strong="H4872" and against Aaron|strong="H0175", that they looked|strong="H6437" toward the tabernacle|strong="H0168" of the congregation|strong="H4150": and, behold, the cloud|strong="H6051" covered|strong="H3680" it, and the glory|strong="H3519" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* appeared|strong="H7200".
43 And Moses|strong="H4872" and Aaron|strong="H0175" came|strong="H0935" before|strong="H6440" the tabernacle|strong="H0168" of the congregation|strong="H4150".
44 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto Moses|strong="H4872", saying|strong="H0559",
45 Get you up|strong="H7426" from among|strong="H8432" this congregation|strong="H5712", that I may consume|strong="H3615" them as in a moment|strong="H7281". And they fell|strong="H5307" upon their faces|strong="H6440".
46 And Moses|strong="H4872" said|strong="H0559" unto Aaron|strong="H0175", Take|strong="H3947" a censer|strong="H4289", and put|strong="H5414" fire|strong="H0784" therein from off|strong="H6440" the altar|strong="H4196", and put|strong="H7760" on incense|strong="H7004", and go|strong="H3212" quickly|strong="H4120" unto the congregation|strong="H5712", and make an atonement|strong="H3722" for them: for there is wrath|strong="H7110" gone out|strong="H3318" from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; the plague|strong="H5063" is begun|strong="H2490".
47 And Aaron|strong="H0175" took|strong="H3947" as Moses|strong="H4872" commanded|strong="H1696", and ran|strong="H7323" into the midst|strong="H8432" of the congregation|strong="H6951"; and, behold, the plague|strong="H5063" was begun|strong="H2490" among the people|strong="H5971": and he put|strong="H5414" on incense|strong="H7004", and made an atonement|strong="H3722" for the people|strong="H5971".
48 And he stood|strong="H5975" between the dead|strong="H4191" and the living|strong="H2416"; and the plague|strong="H4046" was stayed|strong="H6113".
49 Now they that died|strong="H4191" in the plague|strong="H4046" were fourteen|strong="H0702" thousand|strong="H0505" and seven|strong="H7651" hundred|strong="H3967", beside them that died|strong="H4191" about the matter|strong="H1697" of Korah|strong="H7141".
50 And Aaron|strong="H0175" returned|strong="H7725" unto Moses|strong="H4872" unto the door|strong="H6607" of the tabernacle|strong="H0168" of the congregation|strong="H4150": and the plague|strong="H4046" was stayed|strong="H6113".
