The burden|strong="H4853" of the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to Israel|strong="H3478" by|strong="H3027" Malachi|strong="H4401".
I have loved|strong="H0157" you, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*. Yet ye say|strong="H0559", Wherein hast thou loved|strong="H0157" us? Was not Esau|strong="H6215" Jacob’s|strong="H3290" brother|strong="H0251"? saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: yet I loved|strong="H0157" Jacob|strong="H3290",
And I hated|strong="H8130" Esau|strong="H6215", and laid|strong="H7760" his mountains|strong="H2022" and his heritage|strong="H5159" waste|strong="H8077" for the dragons|strong="H8568" of the wilderness|strong="H4057".
Whereas Edom|strong="H0123" saith|strong="H0559", We are impoverished|strong="H7567", but we will return|strong="H7725" and build|strong="H1129" the desolate places|strong="H2723"; thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", They shall build|strong="H1129", but I will throw down|strong="H2040"; and they shall call|strong="H7121" them, The border|strong="H1366" of wickedness|strong="H7564", and, The people|strong="H5971" against whom the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath indignation|strong="H2194" for|strong="H5704" ever|strong="H5769".
And your eyes|strong="H5869" shall see|strong="H7200", and ye shall say|strong="H0559", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will be magnified|strong="H1431" from the border|strong="H1366" of Israel|strong="H3478".
A son|strong="H1121" honoureth|strong="H3513" his father|strong="H0001", and a servant|strong="H5650" his master|strong="H0113": if then I be a father|strong="H0001", where is mine honour|strong="H3519"? and if I be a master|strong="H0113", where is my fear|strong="H4172"? saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" unto you, O priests|strong="H3548", that despise|strong="H0959" my name|strong="H8034". And ye say|strong="H0559", Wherein have we despised|strong="H0959" thy name|strong="H8034"?
Ye offer|strong="H5066" polluted|strong="H1351" bread|strong="H3899" upon mine altar|strong="H4196"; and ye say|strong="H0559", Wherein have we polluted|strong="H1351" thee? In that ye say|strong="H0559", The table|strong="H7979" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is contemptible|strong="H0959".
And if ye offer|strong="H5066" the blind|strong="H5787" for sacrifice|strong="H2076", is it not evil|strong="H7451"? and if ye offer|strong="H5066" the lame|strong="H6455" and sick|strong="H2470", is it not evil|strong="H7451"? offer|strong="H7126" it now unto thy governor|strong="H6346"; will he be pleased|strong="H7521" with thee, or accept|strong="H5375" thy person|strong="H6440"? saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
And now, I pray you, beseech|strong="H2470" God|strong="H0410" that he will be gracious|strong="H2603" unto us: this hath been by your means|strong="H3027": will he regard|strong="H5375" your persons|strong="H6440"? saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
Who is there even among you that would shut|strong="H5462" the doors|strong="H1817" for nought? neither do ye kindle|strong="H0215" fire on mine altar|strong="H4196" for nought|strong="H2600". I have no pleasure|strong="H2656" in you, saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", neither will I accept|strong="H7521" an offering|strong="H4503" at your hand|strong="H3027".
For from the rising|strong="H4217" of the sun|strong="H8121" even unto the going down|strong="H3996" of the same my name|strong="H8034" shall be great|strong="H1419" among the Gentiles|strong="H1471"; and in every place|strong="H4725" incense|strong="H6999" shall be offered|strong="H5066" unto my name|strong="H8034", and a pure|strong="H2889" offering|strong="H4503": for my name|strong="H8034" shall be great|strong="H1419" among the heathen|strong="H1471", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
But ye have profaned|strong="H2490" it, in that ye say|strong="H0559", The table|strong="H7979" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is polluted|strong="H1351"; and the fruit|strong="H5108" thereof, even his meat|strong="H0400", is contemptible|strong="H0959".
Ye said|strong="H0559" also, Behold, what a weariness|strong="H4972" is it! and ye have snuffed|strong="H5301" at it, saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635"; and ye brought|strong="H0935" that which was torn|strong="H1497", and the lame|strong="H6455", and the sick|strong="H2470"; thus ye brought|strong="H0935" an offering|strong="H4503": should I accept|strong="H7521" this of your hand|strong="H3027"? saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
But cursed|strong="H0779" be the deceiver|strong="H5230", which|strong="H3426" hath in his flock|strong="H5739" a male|strong="H2145", and voweth|strong="H5087", and sacrificeth|strong="H2076" unto the Lord|strong="H0136" a corrupt thing|strong="H7843": for I am a great|strong="H1419" King|strong="H4428", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", and my name|strong="H8034" is dreadful|strong="H3372" among the heathen|strong="H1471".
