1 And|strong="G2532" he began|strong="G0756" again|strong="G3825" to teach|strong="G1321" by|strong="G3844" the sea side|strong="G2281": and|strong="G2532" there was gathered|strong="G4863" unto|strong="G4314" him|strong="G0846" a|strong="G3793" great|strong="G4183" multitude|strong="G3793", so that|strong="G5620" he|strong="G0846" entered|strong="G1684" into|strong="G1519" a ship|strong="G4143", and sat|strong="G2521" in|strong="G1722" the sea|strong="G2281"; and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G3793" whole|strong="G3956" multitude|strong="G3793" was|strong="G2258" by|strong="G4314" the sea|strong="G2281" on|strong="G1909" the land|strong="G1093".
2 And|strong="G2532" he taught|strong="G1321" them|strong="G0846" many things|strong="G4183" by|strong="G1722" parables|strong="G3850", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846" in|strong="G1722" his|strong="G0846" doctrine|strong="G1322",
3 \+w Hearken|strong="G0191"\+w*; \+w Behold|strong="G2400"\+w*, \+w there went out|strong="G1831"\+w* \+w a sower|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w to sow|strong="G4687"\+w*:
4 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w it came to pass|strong="G1096"\+w*, \+w as|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w he sowed|strong="G4687"\+w*, \+w some|strong="G3303"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w by|strong="G3844"\+w* \+w the way side|strong="G3598"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the fowls|strong="G4071"\+w* \+w of the air|strong="G3772"\+w* \+w came|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* devoured \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w up|strong="G2719"\+w*.
5 \+w And|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w some|strong="G0243"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w stony ground|strong="G4075"\+w*, \+w where|strong="G3699"\+w* \+w it had|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w much|strong="G4183"\+w* \+w earth|strong="G1093"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w immediately|strong="G2112"\+w* \+w it sprang up|strong="G1816"\+w*, \+w because|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w it had|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w depth|strong="G0899"\+w* \+w of earth|strong="G1093"\+w*:
6 \+w But|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w when|strong="G0393"\+w* \+w the sun|strong="G2246"\+w* \+w was up|strong="G0393"\+w*, \+w it was scorched|strong="G2739"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w because|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w it had|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w root|strong="G4491"\+w*, \+w it withered away|strong="G3583"\+w*.
7 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w some|strong="G0243"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w among|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w thorns|strong="G0173"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the thorns|strong="G0173"\+w* \+w grew up|strong="G0305"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w choked|strong="G4846"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w it yielded|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w fruit|strong="G2590"\+w*.
8 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w other|strong="G0243"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w good|strong="G2570"\+w* \+w ground|strong="G1093"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w did yield|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w fruit|strong="G2590"\+w* \+w that sprang up|strong="G0305"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w increased|strong="G0837"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w brought forth|strong="G5342"\+w*, \+w some|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w thirty|strong="G5144"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w some|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w sixty|strong="G1835"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w some|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w an hundred|strong="G1540"\+w*.
9 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w He that hath|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w ears|strong="G3775"\+w* \+w to hear|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w let him hear|strong="G0191"\+w*.
10 And|strong="G1161" when|strong="G3753" he was|strong="G1096" alone|strong="G2651", they that were about|strong="G4012" him|strong="G0846" with|strong="G4862" the twelve|strong="G1427" asked|strong="G2065" of him|strong="G0846" the parable|strong="G3850".
11 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Unto you|strong="G5213"\+w* \+w it is given|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w to know|strong="G1097"\+w* \+w the mystery|strong="G3466"\+w* \+w of the kingdom|strong="G0932"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*: \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w unto them|strong="G1565"\+w* \+w that are without|strong="G1854"\+w*, \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+add these\+add* \+w things|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w are done|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w parables|strong="G3850"\+w*:
12 \+w That|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w seeing|strong="G0991"\+w* \+w they may see|strong="G0991"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w perceive|strong="G1492"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w hearing|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w they may hear|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w understand|strong="G4920"\+w*; \+w lest at any time|strong="G3379"\+w* \+w they should be converted|strong="G1994"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+add their\+add* \+w sins|strong="G0265"\+w* \+w should be forgiven|strong="G0863"\+w* \+w them|strong="G0846"\+w*.
13 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Know ye|strong="G1492"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w this|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w parable|strong="G3850"\+w*? \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w how then|strong="G4459"\+w* \+w will ye know|strong="G1097"\+w* \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w parables|strong="G3850"\+w*?
14 \+w The sower|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w soweth|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w*.
15 \+w And|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w these|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w are they|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w by|strong="G3844"\+w* \+w the way side|strong="G3598"\+w*, \+w where|strong="G3699"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w is sown|strong="G4687"\+w*; \+w but|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w when|strong="G3752"\+w* \+w they have heard|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w Satan|strong="G4567"\+w* \+w cometh|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w immediately|strong="G2112"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w taketh away|strong="G0142"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w that was sown|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w their|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w hearts|strong="G2588"\+w*.
16 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w these|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w are they|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w likewise|strong="G3668"\+w* \+w which are sown|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w stony ground|strong="G4075"\+w*; \+w who|strong="G3739"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G3752"\+w* \+w they have heard|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w*, \+w immediately|strong="G2112"\+w* \+w receive|strong="G2983"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w with|strong="G3326"\+w* \+w gladness|strong="G5479"\+w*;
17 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w have|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w root|strong="G4491"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w themselves|strong="G1438"\+w*, \+w and so|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w endure|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w for a time|strong="G4340"\+w*: \+w afterward|strong="G1534"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w affliction|strong="G2347"\+w* \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w persecution|strong="G1375"\+w* \+w ariseth|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w the word’s sake|strong="G3056"\+w*, \+w immediately|strong="G2112"\+w* \+w they are offended|strong="G4624"\+w*.
18 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w these|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w are they|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w which are sown|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w among|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w thorns|strong="G0173"\+w*; \+w such as hear|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w*,
19 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the cares|strong="G3308"\+w* \+w of this|strong="G5127"\+w* \+w world|strong="G0165"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the deceitfulness|strong="G0539"\+w* \+w of riches|strong="G4149"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the lusts|strong="G1939"\+w* \+w of|strong="G4012"\+w* \+w other things|strong="G3062"\+w* \+w entering in|strong="G1531"\+w*, \+w choke|strong="G4846"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w it becometh|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w unfruitful|strong="G0175"\+w*.
20 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w these|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w are|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w they which are sown|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w good|strong="G2570"\+w* \+w ground|strong="G1093"\+w*; \+w such as|strong="G3748"\+w* \+w hear|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w receive|strong="G3858"\+w* \+add it\+add*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w bring forth fruit|strong="G2592"\+w*, \+w some|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w thirtyfold|strong="G5144"\+w*, \+w some|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w sixty|strong="G1835"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w some|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w an hundred|strong="G1540"\+w*.
21 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Is|strong="G3385"\+w* \+w a candle|strong="G3088"\+w* \+w brought|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w to|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w be put|strong="G5087"\+w* \+w under|strong="G5259"\+w* a \+w bushel|strong="G3426"\+w*, \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w under|strong="G5259"\+w* \+w a bed|strong="G2825"\+w*? \+w and not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w to|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w be set|strong="G2007"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w a candlestick|strong="G3087"\+w*?
22 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w there is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w nothing|strong="G5100"\+w* \+w hid|strong="G2927"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G1437"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w be manifested|strong="G5319"\+w*; \+w neither|strong="G3761"\+w* \+w was any thing kept|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w secret|strong="G0614"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w that|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w it should come|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w abroad|strong="G5318"\+w*.
23 \+w If|strong="G1487"\+w* \+w any man|strong="G5100"\+w* \+w have|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w ears|strong="G3775"\+w* \+w to hear|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w let him hear|strong="G0191"\+w*.
24 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Take heed|strong="G0991"\+w* \+w what|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w ye hear|strong="G0191"\+w*: \+w with|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w what|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w measure|strong="G3358"\+w* \+w ye mete|strong="G3354"\+w*, \+w it shall be measured|strong="G3354"\+w* \+w to you|strong="G5213"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w unto you|strong="G5213"\+w* \+w that hear|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w shall more be give|strong="G4369"\+w*n.
25 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w he that|strong="G0302"\+w* \+w hath|strong="G2192"\+w*, \+w to him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w shall be given|strong="G1325"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w he that|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w hath|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w*, \+w from|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w shall be taken|strong="G0142"\+w* \+w even|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w that which|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w he hath|strong="G2192"\+w*.
26 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004", \+w So|strong="G3779"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w the kingdom|strong="G0932"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w as|strong="G5613"\+w* \+w if|strong="G1437"\+w* \+w a man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w should cast|strong="G0906"\+w* \+w seed|strong="G4703"\+w* \+w into|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w the ground|strong="G1093"\+w*;
27 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w should sleep|strong="G2518"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w rise|strong="G1453"\+w* \+w night|strong="G3571"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w day|strong="G2250"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the seed|strong="G4703"\+w* \+w should spring|strong="G0985"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w grow up|strong="G3373"\+w*, \+w he|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w knoweth|strong="G1492"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w how|strong="G5613"\+w*.
28 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w the earth|strong="G1093"\+w* \+w bringeth forth fruit|strong="G2592"\+w* \+w of herself|strong="G0844"\+w*; \+w first|strong="G4412"\+w* \+w the blade|strong="G5528"\+w*, \+w then|strong="G1534"\+w* \+w the ear|strong="G4719"\+w*, \+w after that|strong="G1534"\+w* \+w the|strong="G4621"\+w* \+w full|strong="G4134"\+w* \+w corn|strong="G4621"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the ear|strong="G4719"\+w*.
29 \+w But|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w when|strong="G3752"\+w* \+w the fruit|strong="G2590"\+w* \+w is brought forth|strong="G3860"\+w*, \+w immediately|strong="G2112"\+w* \+w he putteth in|strong="G0649"\+w* \+w the sickle|strong="G1407"\+w*, \+w because|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w the harvest|strong="G2326"\+w* \+w is come|strong="G3936"\+w*.
30 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G3004", \+w Whereunto|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w shall we liken|strong="G3666"\+w* \+w the kingdom|strong="G0932"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*? \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w with|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w what|strong="G4169"\+w* \+w comparison|strong="G3850"\+w* \+w shall we compare|strong="G3846"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w*?
31 \+add It is\+add* \+w like|strong="G5613"\+w* \+w a grain|strong="G2848"\+w* \+w of mustard seed|strong="G4615"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3739"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G3752"\+w* \+w it is sown|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w the earth|strong="G1093"\+w*, \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w less than|strong="G3398"\+w* \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w the seeds|strong="G4690"\+w* \+w that be|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w the earth|strong="G1093"\+w*:
32 \+w But|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w when|strong="G3752"\+w* \+w it is sown|strong="G4687"\+w*, \+w it groweth up|strong="G0305"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w becometh|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w greater than|strong="G3187"\+w* \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w herbs|strong="G3001"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w shooteth out|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w great|strong="G3173"\+w* \+w branches|strong="G2798"\+w*; \+w so that|strong="G5620"\+w* \+w the fowls|strong="G4071"\+w* \+w of the air|strong="G3772"\+w* \+w may|strong="G1410"\+w* \+w lodge|strong="G2681"\+w* \+w under|strong="G5259"\+w* \+w the shadow|strong="G4639"\+w* \+w of it|strong="G0846"\+w*.
33 And|strong="G2532" with|strong="G5108" many|strong="G4183" such|strong="G5108" parables|strong="G3850" spake he|strong="G2980" the word|strong="G3056" unto them|strong="G0846", as|strong="G2531" they were able|strong="G1410" to hear|strong="G0191" it.
34 But|strong="G1161" without|strong="G5565" a parable|strong="G3850" spake he|strong="G2980" not|strong="G3756" unto them|strong="G0846": and|strong="G2596" when|strong="G1161" they were alone|strong="G2398", he expounded|strong="G1956" all things|strong="G3956" to|strong="G3101" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101".
35 And|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2250" same|strong="G1565" day|strong="G2250", when|strong="G1096" the even|strong="G3798" was come|strong="G1096", he saith|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Let us pass over|strong="G1330"\+w* \+w unto|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w the other side|strong="G4008"\+w*.
36 And|strong="G2532" when they had sent away|strong="G0863" the multitude|strong="G3793", they took|strong="G3880" him|strong="G0846" even as|strong="G5613" he was|strong="G2258" in|strong="G1722" the ship|strong="G4143". And|strong="G2532" there were|strong="G2258" also|strong="G1161" with|strong="G3326" him|strong="G0846" other|strong="G0243" little ships|strong="G4142".
37 And|strong="G2532" there arose|strong="G1096" a|strong="G2978" great|strong="G3173" storm|strong="G2978" of wind|strong="G0417", and|strong="G1161" the waves|strong="G2949" beat|strong="G1911" into|strong="G1519" the ship|strong="G4143", so that|strong="G5620" it|strong="G0846" was|strong="G1072" now|strong="G2235" full|strong="G1072".
38 And|strong="G2532" he|strong="G0846" was|strong="G2258" in|strong="G1909" the hinder part of the ship|strong="G4403", asleep|strong="G2518" on|strong="G1909" a pillow|strong="G4344": and|strong="G2532" they awake|strong="G1326" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" say|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", Master|strong="G1320", carest|strong="G3199" thou|strong="G4671" not|strong="G3756" that|strong="G3754" we perish|strong="G0622"?
39 And|strong="G2532" he arose|strong="G1326", and|strong="G2532" rebuked|strong="G2008" the wind|strong="G0417", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036" unto the sea|strong="G2281", \+w Peace|strong="G4623"\+w*, \+w be still|strong="G5392"\+w*. And|strong="G2532" the wind|strong="G0417" ceased|strong="G2869", and|strong="G2532" there was|strong="G1096" a|strong="G1055" great|strong="G3173" calm|strong="G1055".
40 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Why|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w are ye|strong="G2075"\+w* \+w so|strong="G3779"\+w* \+w fearful|strong="G1169"\+w*? \+w how is it that|strong="G4459"\+w* \+w ye have|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w faith|strong="G4102"\+w*?
41 And|strong="G2532" they feared|strong="G5399" exceedingly|strong="G3173", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" one|strong="G0240" to|strong="G4314" another|strong="G0240", What|strong="G5101" manner|strong="G0687" of man is|strong="G2076" this|strong="G3778", that|strong="G3754" even|strong="G2532" the wind|strong="G0417" and|strong="G2532" the sea|strong="G2281" obey|strong="G5219" him|strong="G0846"?
