1 Now after|strong="H0310" the death|strong="H4194" of Moses|strong="H4872" the servant|strong="H5650" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* it came to pass, that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H0559" unto Joshua|strong="H3091" the son|strong="H1121" of Nun|strong="H5126", Moses’|strong="H4872" minister|strong="H8334", saying|strong="H0559",
2 Moses|strong="H4872" my servant|strong="H5650" is dead|strong="H4191"; now therefore arise|strong="H6965", go over|strong="H5674" this Jordan|strong="H3383", thou, and all this people|strong="H5971", unto the land|strong="H0776" which I do give|strong="H5414" to them, even to the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478".
3 Every place|strong="H4725" that the sole|strong="H3709" of your foot|strong="H7272" shall tread upon|strong="H1869", that have I given|strong="H5414" unto you, as I said|strong="H1696" unto Moses|strong="H4872".
4 From the wilderness|strong="H4057" and this Lebanon|strong="H3844" even unto the great|strong="H1419" river|strong="H5104", the river|strong="H5104" Euphrates|strong="H6578", all the land|strong="H0776" of the Hittites|strong="H2850", and unto the great|strong="H1419" sea|strong="H3220" toward the going down|strong="H3996" of the sun|strong="H8121", shall be your coast|strong="H1366".
5 There shall not any man|strong="H0376" be able to stand|strong="H3320" before|strong="H6440" thee all the days|strong="H3117" of thy life|strong="H2416": as I was with Moses|strong="H4872", so I will be with thee: I will not fail|strong="H7503" thee, nor forsake|strong="H5800" thee.
6 Be strong|strong="H2388" and of a good courage|strong="H0553": for unto this people|strong="H5971" shalt thou divide for an inheritance|strong="H5157" the land|strong="H0776", which I sware|strong="H7650" unto their fathers|strong="H0001" to give|strong="H5414" them.
7 Only be thou strong|strong="H2388" and very|strong="H3966" courageous|strong="H0553", that thou mayest observe|strong="H8104" to do|strong="H6213" according to all the law|strong="H8451", which Moses|strong="H4872" my servant|strong="H5650" commanded|strong="H6680" thee: turn|strong="H5493" not from it to the right hand|strong="H3225" or to the left|strong="H8040", that thou mayest prosper|strong="H7919" whithersoever thou goest|strong="H3212".
8 This book|strong="H5612" of the law|strong="H8451" shall not depart|strong="H4185" out of thy mouth|strong="H6310"; but thou shalt meditate|strong="H1897" therein day|strong="H3119" and night|strong="H3915", that thou mayest observe|strong="H8104" to do|strong="H6213" according to all that is written|strong="H3789" therein: for then thou shalt make|strong="H6743" thy way|strong="H1870" prosperous|strong="H6743", and then thou shalt have good success|strong="H7919".
9 Have not I commanded|strong="H6680" thee? Be strong|strong="H2388" and of a good courage|strong="H0553"; be not afraid|strong="H6206", neither be thou dismayed|strong="H2865": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" is with thee whithersoever thou goest|strong="H3212".
10 Then Joshua|strong="H3091" commanded|strong="H6680" the officers|strong="H7860" of the people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559",
11 Pass|strong="H5674" through|strong="H7130" the host|strong="H4264", and command|strong="H6680" the people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559", Prepare|strong="H3559" you victuals|strong="H6720"; for within three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117" ye shall pass over|strong="H5674" this Jordan|strong="H3383", to go in|strong="H0935" to possess|strong="H3423" the land|strong="H0776", which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" giveth|strong="H5414" you to possess|strong="H3423" it.
12 And to the Reubenites|strong="H7206", and to the Gadites|strong="H1425", and to half|strong="H2677" the tribe|strong="H7626" of Manasseh|strong="H4519", spake|strong="H0559" Joshua|strong="H3091", saying|strong="H0559",
13 Remember|strong="H2142" the word|strong="H1697" which Moses|strong="H4872" the servant|strong="H5650" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" you, saying|strong="H0559", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" hath given you rest|strong="H5117", and hath given|strong="H5414" you this land|strong="H0776".
14 Your wives|strong="H0802", your little ones|strong="H2945", and your cattle|strong="H4735", shall remain|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776" which Moses|strong="H4872" gave|strong="H5414" you on this side|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383"; but ye shall pass|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" your brethren|strong="H0251" armed|strong="H2571", all the mighty|strong="H1368" men of valour|strong="H2428", and help|strong="H5826" them;
15 Until the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* have given|strong="H5117" your brethren|strong="H0251" rest|strong="H5117", as he hath given you, and they also have possessed|strong="H3423" the land|strong="H0776" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" giveth|strong="H5414" them: then ye shall return|strong="H7725" unto the land|strong="H0776" of your possession|strong="H3425", and enjoy|strong="H3423" it, which Moses|strong="H4872" the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* servant|strong="H5650" gave|strong="H5414" you on this side|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383" toward the sunrising|strong="H4217".
16 And they answered|strong="H6030" Joshua|strong="H3091", saying|strong="H0559", All that thou commandest|strong="H6680" us we will do|strong="H6213", and whithersoever|strong="H0834" thou sendest|strong="H7971" us, we will go|strong="H3212".
17 According as we hearkened|strong="H8085" unto Moses|strong="H4872" in all things, so will we hearken|strong="H8085" unto thee: only the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" be with thee, as he was with Moses|strong="H4872".
18 Whosoever|strong="H0376" he be that doth rebel|strong="H4784" against thy commandment|strong="H6310", and will not hearken|strong="H8085" unto thy words|strong="H1697" in all that thou commandest|strong="H6680" him, he shall be put to death|strong="H4191": only be strong|strong="H2388" and of a good courage|strong="H0553".
