Êxodo 2

ENG-KJV2006

And there went|strong="H3212" a man|strong="H0376" of the house|strong="H1004" of Levi|strong="H3878", and took|strong="H3947" to wife a daughter|strong="H1323" of Levi|strong="H3878".

And the woman|strong="H0802" conceived|strong="H2029", and bare|strong="H3205" a son|strong="H1121": and when she saw|strong="H7200" him that he was a goodly|strong="H2896" child, she hid|strong="H6845" him three|strong="H7969" months|strong="H3391".

And when she could|strong="H3201" not longer|strong="H5750" hide|strong="H6845" him, she took|strong="H3947" for him an ark|strong="H8392" of bulrushes|strong="H1573", and daubed|strong="H2560" it with slime|strong="H2564" and with pitch|strong="H2203", and put|strong="H7760" the child|strong="H3206" therein; and she laid|strong="H7760" it in the flags|strong="H5488" by the river’s|strong="H2975" brink|strong="H8193".

And his sister|strong="H0269" stood|strong="H3320" afar off|strong="H7350", to wit|strong="H3045" what would be done|strong="H6213" to him.

And the daughter|strong="H1323" of Pharaoh|strong="H6547" came down|strong="H3381" to wash|strong="H7364" herself at the river|strong="H2975"; and her maidens|strong="H5291" walked|strong="H1980" along by the river’s|strong="H2975" side|strong="H3027"; and when she saw|strong="H7200" the ark|strong="H8392" among|strong="H8432" the flags|strong="H5488", she sent|strong="H7971" her maid|strong="H0519" to fetch|strong="H3947" it.

And when she had opened|strong="H6605" it, she saw|strong="H7200" the child|strong="H3206": and, behold, the babe|strong="H5288" wept|strong="H1058". And she had compassion|strong="H2550" on him, and said|strong="H0559", This is one of the Hebrews’|strong="H5680" children|strong="H3206".

Then said|strong="H0559" his sister|strong="H0269" to Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" daughter|strong="H1323", Shall I go|strong="H3212" and call|strong="H7121" to thee a nurse|strong="H3243" of the Hebrew|strong="H5680" women|strong="H0802", that she may nurse|strong="H3243" the child|strong="H3206" for thee?

And Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" daughter|strong="H1323" said|strong="H0559" to her, Go|strong="H3212". And the maid|strong="H5959" went|strong="H3212" and called|strong="H7121" the child’s|strong="H3206" mother|strong="H0517".

And Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" daughter|strong="H1323" said|strong="H0559" unto her, Take|strong="H3212" this child|strong="H3206" away|strong="H3212", and nurse|strong="H3243" it for me, and I will give|strong="H5414" thee thy wages|strong="H7939". And the woman|strong="H0802" took|strong="H3947" the child|strong="H3206", and nursed|strong="H5134" it.

And the child|strong="H3206" grew|strong="H1431", and she brought|strong="H0935" him unto Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" daughter|strong="H1323", and he became her son|strong="H1121". And she called|strong="H7121" his name|strong="H8034" Moses|strong="H4872": and she said|strong="H0559", Because I drew|strong="H4871" him out of the water|strong="H4325".

And it came to pass in those days|strong="H3117", when Moses|strong="H4872" was grown|strong="H1431", that he went out|strong="H3318" unto his brethren|strong="H0251", and looked|strong="H7200" on their burdens|strong="H5450": and he spied|strong="H7200" an Egyptian|strong="H4713" smiting|strong="H5221" an Hebrew|strong="H5680", one of his brethren|strong="H0251".

And he looked|strong="H6437" this way|strong="H3541" and that way|strong="H3541", and when he saw|strong="H7200" that there was no man|strong="H0376", he slew|strong="H5221" the Egyptian|strong="H4713", and hid|strong="H2934" him in the sand|strong="H2344".

And when he went out|strong="H3318" the second|strong="H8145" day|strong="H3117", behold, two|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582" of the Hebrews|strong="H5680" strove|strong="H5327" together: and he said|strong="H0559" to him that did the wrong|strong="H7563", Wherefore smitest|strong="H5221" thou thy fellow|strong="H7453"?

And he said|strong="H0559", Who made|strong="H7760" thee|strong="H0376" a prince|strong="H8269" and a judge|strong="H8199" over us? intendest|strong="H0559" thou to kill|strong="H2026" me, as thou killedst|strong="H2026" the Egyptian|strong="H4713"? And Moses|strong="H4872" feared|strong="H3372", and said|strong="H0559", Surely|strong="H0403" this thing|strong="H1697" is known|strong="H3045".

Now when Pharaoh|strong="H6547" heard|strong="H8085" this thing|strong="H1697", he sought|strong="H1245" to slay|strong="H2026" Moses|strong="H4872". But Moses|strong="H4872" fled|strong="H1272" from the face|strong="H6440" of Pharaoh|strong="H6547", and dwelt|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776" of Midian|strong="H4080": and he sat down|strong="H3427" by a well|strong="H0875".

Now the priest|strong="H3548" of Midian|strong="H4080" had seven|strong="H7651" daughters|strong="H1323": and they came|strong="H0935" and drew|strong="H1802" water, and filled|strong="H4390" the troughs|strong="H7298" to water|strong="H8248" their father’s|strong="H0001" flock|strong="H6629".

And the shepherds|strong="H7462" came|strong="H0935" and drove them away|strong="H1644": but Moses|strong="H4872" stood up|strong="H6965" and helped|strong="H3467" them, and watered|strong="H8248" their flock|strong="H6629".

And when they came|strong="H0935" to Reuel|strong="H7467" their father|strong="H0001", he said|strong="H0559", How|strong="H4069" is it that ye are come|strong="H0935" so soon|strong="H4116" to day|strong="H3117"?

And they said|strong="H0559", An Egyptian|strong="H4713" delivered|strong="H5337" us out of the hand|strong="H3027" of the shepherds|strong="H7462", and also drew|strong="H1802" water enough|strong="H1802" for us, and watered|strong="H8248" the flock|strong="H6629".

And he said|strong="H0559" unto his daughters|strong="H1323", And where is he? why is it that ye have left|strong="H5800" the man|strong="H0376"? call|strong="H7121" him, that he may eat|strong="H0398" bread|strong="H3899".

And Moses|strong="H4872" was content|strong="H2974" to dwell|strong="H3427" with the man|strong="H0376": and he gave|strong="H5414" Moses|strong="H4872" Zipporah|strong="H6855" his daughter|strong="H1323".

And she bare|strong="H3205" him a son|strong="H1121", and he called|strong="H7121" his name|strong="H8034" Gershom|strong="H1647": for he said|strong="H0559", I have been a stranger|strong="H1616" in a strange|strong="H5237" land|strong="H0776".

And it came to pass in process|strong="H1992" of time|strong="H3117", that the king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714" died|strong="H4191": and the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" sighed|strong="H0584" by reason of|strong="H4480" the bondage|strong="H5656", and they cried|strong="H2199", and their cry|strong="H7775" came up|strong="H5927" unto God|strong="H0430" by reason of the bondage|strong="H5656".

And God|strong="H0430" heard|strong="H8085" their groaning|strong="H5009", and God|strong="H0430" remembered|strong="H2142" his covenant|strong="H1285" with Abraham|strong="H0085", with Isaac|strong="H3327", and with Jacob|strong="H3290".

And God|strong="H0430" looked|strong="H7200" upon the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", and God|strong="H0430" had respect|strong="H3045" unto them.
