For the Chief Musician; set to Aijaleth hash-Shahar. A Psalm of David.
O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not;
But thou art holy,
Our fathers trusted in thee:
They cried unto thee, and were delivered:
But I am a worm, and no man;
All they that see me laugh me to scorn:
Commit
But thou art he that took me out of the womb;
I was cast upon thee from the womb;
Be not far from me; for trouble is near;
Many bulls have compassed me;
They gape upon me with their mouth,
I am poured out like water,
My strength is dried up like a potsherd;
For dogs have compassed me:
I may count all my bones.
They part my garments among them,
But be not thou far off, O Jehovah:
Deliver my soul from the sword,
Save me from the lion’s mouth;
I will declare thy name unto my brethren:
Ye that fear Jehovah, praise him;
For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Of thee cometh my praise in the great assembly:
The meek shall eat and be satisfied;
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah;
For the kingdom is Jehovah’s;
All the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship:
A seed shall serve him;
They shall come and shall declare his righteousness
